If you ran the world...

...what would you do for your community?
Have you ever heard about something happening in your
community that made you smile? Have you volunteered
somewhere and been thanked for showing up and helping
out? If you ran the world, wouldn’t you do anything
you could to make your local community fun, safe and
just a great place for everyone to live?
Barbara De Angelis once said, “Love and Kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference.” What kind of difference do you want to make? What would you do for your local community if you ran the world?
Here are 10 things you can do for your community. Remember, no matter how big or small your contribution, you are making a difference.
1. Donate clothes, toys, supplies, time, money and anything else you can think of.
2. Bake something for your neighbors, co-workers or your local police and fire.
3. Buy goodies for your co-workers, neighbors or other service personnel if you don’t have time to bake.
4. Organize a fundraiser for your favorite charity or help out the day of an established event.
5. Say hello with a smile to everyone you encounter in a day, whether you know them or not.
6. Buy a meal for someone or pay for someone’s order that is behind you in the drive through.
7. Volunteer.
8. Pick up a piece of litter when you are out walking, even if it’s in the parking lot.
9. Be kind on the roads and eliminate road rage for the day.
10. Welcome everyone..no matter what they look like, how they dress, or who they are with.
We can all make the world a better place by starting in our own communities. My challenge to you is to pick an item from the list above each and every day for the next week. Maybe consider picking something for your family and share with each other at the dinner table what you did that day and what the impact was for the community or the person you helped.
